Adele Buettner - Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan

Farmscape for July 6, 2015

The CEO of Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan says the Chef's Series planned as part of Taste of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon will offer an entertaining opportunity to connect with consumers.
Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan and SaskTel Centre have teamed up to present the Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan "Chef's Series" at Taste of Saskatchewan, slated for July 14 to 19 at Kiwanis Park in Saskatoon.
Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan CEO Adele Buettner says this is a great opportunity to celebrate Saskatchewan produced foods and to connect with the public.

Clip-Adele Buettner-Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan:
The Taste of Saskatchewan's history is to showcase a variety of foods that are offered through different restaurants in our community.
What the Taste of Saskatchewan's Chef's Series will showcase are chefs that are doing demonstrations using Saskatchewan grown food.
At noon we'll have demos each day featuring a variety of different products and then at the 6 o'clock time slot we'll have a competition and the competition will involve two different chefs each day that will compete towards the grand finale which is on the Sunday which will be the peak of the competition.
The chefs are being provided and secured through the Saskatoon Chef's Association.
They're all Saskatoon talent and there's also two that are coming in from Regina to be part of our competition and to be part of our Chef's Series.
Farm and Food Care is coordinating the stage, we're working with the chefs, we're working with SaskTel Centre and of course with our commodity groups to provide some messaging and an opportunity too connect with our consumers.

Buettner notes less than 2 percent of the Canadian population have direct ties to modern agriculture so it's important to connect with consumers and demonstrate they can have confidence that the food they eat is safe, responsibly produced and healthy.
